Freedom of Information
We are committed to be an open and infomative school. Equally, we recognise that we have a responsibility to protect sensitive information that we are required to hold about families and children. Our policy on Freedom of Information can be downloaded here and our Secure Data Handling Policy can be downloaded here. Also, plese see below for further information.
What information is routinely available?
Examples of what is provided freely are as follows:
- policies and procedures
- minutes of meetings
- annual reports on children to parents / carers (not shared beyond intended audience)
- financial information
Data Sharing Arrangements
We have a legal obligation to protect the identity and sensitive information of our staff and families. Any personal information will not be shared without the persons permission and no information will be stored for longer than is strictly necessary. The exception to this is if we have cause to believe a child is at immediate risk of neglect and abuse.
- Permission for use of images
When a child joins the school we ask permission to use photographs and video. Images taken may be used on the school website or in the local press to publicise the school. If you do not wish for images of your child to be recorded, you should inform the school using the permission slip provided to you.
We routinely remind parents not to post images of children, other than their own, on social media. We do this, for example, before a whole school performance such as the Key Stage 1 Nativity or the Year 6 Leavers production.
Please note, we cannot guarantee that a third party will never take a photograph or video of your child whilst, for example, attending a school trip.
We follow the same rules of copyright as all other organisations, although we are permitted to use some media for the purposes of education.
